"We are facing three projects that have been carried out or are being carried out, in collaboration with the City Council, to enhance the image of the municipality through different rehabilitation and beautification actions in public spaces, so that they conform to the standards of quality that are necessary as a tourist destination”, assured Castilla. These are three works that aim to advance the development of Santiago del Teide and are subsidized jointly by the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce and the Santiago del Teide City Council. Their total budget amounts to nearly two million euros, of which 1,050,000 euros are provided by the Government of the Canary Islands. The first of the actions, financed with a grant of 250,000 euros and which is currently 98% executed, is the one located in Playa de La Arena. Actions have been taken to improve access conditions, replace street furniture, lighting fixtures, flower beds and other elements, in addition to installing charging points for electric vehicles. The second action, which has an investment of 1,300,000 euros, of which 600,000 are contributed by the Ministry of Tourism, is scheduled to start in the coming weeks, after its recent award. Through of the same one will proceed to the rehabilitation of the urban facilities and improvement of the conditions of accessibility and mobility of Adelfas street in Los Gigantes.
