The city council presents the program of events on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

 

This commemoration takes place every November 25 with the purpose of denouncing the violence that is exercised against women in the world.

 

 

The Santiago del Teide City Council has presented a new edition of the “Agents of Change 2023” campaign, whose program of activities is organized to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women -November 25-.

 

On November 6, 7 and 8 there will be talks on gender violence by the sociologist expert in Equality Policies, Patricia Ojeda at the IES Serafín Pardo.

 

On Wednesday, November 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the IES Serafín Pardo there will be a talk aimed at families entitled "Current Context of Sexual Exploitation in Childhood and Adolescence through New Technologies", by of the Alondra Program of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030.

 

On Wednesday, November 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., a workshop titled “Self-esteem and Frustration Tolerance in Adolescents Workshop” will be held at the IES Serafín Pardo, which will be taught by psychologist Tania González.

 

On Wednesdays, November 22 and 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., wellness tables will be held at the Tamaimo Social Center prior to a laughter therapy workshop.

 

On Friday, November 24, the commemorative event for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will be held at 12:00 in the town hall square. Reading of Manifesto, Minute of Silence and Performance "For me, for you, for all: free, alive and without fear." That same day, at the IES Serafín Pardo performance "Breaking the Silence in the face of Gender Violence."

 

Finally, Saturday, November 25: International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Failure of the 2023 Gender Violence Microstories contest and dissemination of the video of the 25N 2023 Campaign.

 

In addition, throughout the month there will be a “Violet Corner” in the municipal libraries.
