Santiago del Teide prepares to celebrate its festivities in honor of Saint Peter the Apostle
They will take place from Thursday, June 25th to Monday, June 29th
From Thursday, June 25th to Monday, June 29th, the festivities in honor of Saint Peter the Apostle will be celebrated in Santiago del Teide. This year's celebration will feature numerous events throughout the festivities.
The celebration will begin on Thursday, June 25th, at 6:00 a.m. with a batucada (percussion ensemble) announcing the festivities, featuring the Tamatimba group. At 10:00 a.m., the sound equipment from Radio Curbelo will arrive. At 9:00 p.m., the Grand Final Gala of Miss Summer Canary Islands will take place. Admission is free with a donation of 1 kg of food. The gala will feature performances by the Armonía Dance Group, the Next Generation Dance Group, singer Layla Ramos, and singer Adrián Aguiar. The evening will conclude with a party for young people with DJ Marcos Gorrín.
On Friday, July 26, at 5:00 PM, a children's festival. Around 8:00 PM, an afternoon festival with performances by Agua del Corro, Victoria Escudero La Leona, and DJ Javi Plasencia. Afterwards, a grand open-air dance with music by Nueva Línea and Grupo Saoco.
On Saturday, June 27, at 10:00 AM, inflatable water and land castles. At 1:00 PM, a foam party. At 4:00 PM, a card tournament. Starting at 6:00 PM, the final qualifying round of MasterChef will take place in the plaza. Around 11:00 PM, a Latin music event with the Maraury Orchestra, Grupo Bomba de Fuerteventura, and Orquesta Maquinaria Band.
On Sunday, June 28, at 1:30 PM, the traditional Al Paso de la Cumbre event arrives at the plaza. At 7:00 PM, a Mass in honor of Saint Peter the Apostle will be celebrated at the Parish of San Fernando Rey, officiated by Parish Priest Víctor Manuel Fernández. Following the Mass, the traditional procession will begin, accompanied by local authorities, parishioners, and the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band. During the procession, a bonfire will be lit, and upon arrival at the church, a small fireworks display will take place. Around 8:30 PM, a comedy night will feature performances by comedians Darío López and Jorge Ávila.
On Monday, June 29th, at 5:00 PM, the Town Day Festival will begin with performances by Teatro Cherfe, Parranda Canaria, and the Asociación Herederos de Chasna. At 8:00 PM, another Mass in honor of Saint Peter the Apostle will be celebrated at the Parish of San Fernando Rey. The procession will then take place along its usual route, accompanied by municipal authorities, parishioners, and the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band. To conclude the festivities, a large meal will be served for all attendees.
