The city council opens until October 24 the term of social aid for the payment of the IBI receipt

This call for grants can be attended by neighbours who prove the status of pensioners, long-term unemployed, people with dependent family members with disabilities and victims of gender violence

The City Council of Santiago del Teide has approved the granting of social and individual aid in a free regime to neighbours who prove the status of pensioners, long-term unemployed, people with dependent family members or victims of gender violence to collaborate in their expenses for habitual housing related to the payment of the IBI.

From the City Council we are aware of the situation that numerous families in the municipality are going through who lack or have limited their resources to cope with the day to day, to also have to face the payment for the increase passed on of the revision of the cadastral values of the IBI, which is a very difficult economic effort to fulfil by these groups.

The deadline for submitting applications is October 24 and the financial benefit is intended for the following groups:

* Pensioners who receive a payment from a public body, for reasons of retirement, widowhood, orphanhood or disability, or their spouse, if they are the owner of the house.

* People with disabilities (functional or intellectual diversity) or with relatives with this condition in their care: the owner of the house must have a recognised disability equal to or greater than 65%; or the applicant must prove living with a family member

Up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity in a straight or collateral line that has a degree of disability equal to or greater than 65%.

* Long-term unemployed (or your spouse if you are the owner of the home). For these purposes, those people who are registered as job seekers in the corresponding Public Employment Services, with a minimum seniority and uninterrupted duration of twelve months, prior to the date of application for this subsidy, are understood to be understood to be long-term unemployed.

*Victims of Gender Violence: those who prove by judicial judgement or restraining order that recognises such a situation.

For the receipt of this aid, it will be an essential requirement that the beneficiary is registered and resides in Santiago del Teide with a minimum of one year of seniority in the home for which he is requesting the subsidy. In addition, you must be the owner, usufructuary or holder of a surface right over the house where you usually reside, provided that it is located in the municipality of Santiago del Teide, and that, in addition, it appears as obliged to pay on the receipt of the IBI in relation to said house.

The amount to be received by each beneficiary will be equivalent to 90% of the IBI receipt fee for the corresponding year.
