The festivities begin in honour of San Joaquín and the Virgin of La Paz de Tamaimo
They will take place from September 20 to 24
The town of Tamaimo is preparing for the imminent celebration of its festivities in honour of San Joaquín and the Virgin of La Paz that will be held from Wednesday, September 20 to Sunday, September 24 of the aforementioned month, with various liturgical events and recreational activities for all ages.
So, this celebration will begin this Wednesday, September 20, and will do so from 4:30 p.m. in Plaza Santa Ana, where the 4th edition of the Envite Tournament "Cheo Bonifacia" and the 2nd edition of the domino tournament "David El Bicho" will take place.
Regarding Thursday, September 21, from 06:00H., the traditional ringing of bells and rain of flyers will take place announcing the beginning of our festivities, highlighting that a flowered bullseye will also be developed by the usual tour in charge of the Fanfare of Santiago del Teide. It will be at 10:00H. when the arrival of the Radio Curbelo teams will take place, although from 17:30H. the 1st edition of the "Urbano Morales" Dessert Contest will be held, whose prizes will be the following: 1º Prize -Kitchen Robot-, 2º Prize - cupcakes/muffins machine- and 3º Prize - Cake pops machine-.
Likewise, it will not be until 8:30 p.m. when we can enjoy the International Concert of the Tensamba 2023 Festival, highlighting that, at the end of it, those present there will be able to taste a great paella under the musical animation of Rafa Oliveros.
As for Friday, September 22, from 4:30 p.m., the finals of the envite and domino tournaments will take place, while at 8:00 p.m. the Variety Festival will begin - presented by Loli Guanche-, which will feature the performances of the A.F. Tayme, the performance of the senior theatre of Santiago del Teide, as well as the group Nueva Década. Finally, from 23:00H., the Great Verbena "Viernes del Tamaimer@" will begin, which will be in charge of the La Calle Group and the Maraury Orchestra.
On Saturday, September 23, for its part, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the little ones in Tamaimo will be able to have a great time with a morning of children's entertainment in Plaza Abelardo González, which will have bouncy castles-American tracks; crafts; face painting; great human Parcheesi; human foosball; a popcorn machine. It will be from 4:00 p.m. when the 31st edition of the Santa Ana Popular Cross 2023 begins, whose registrations will end on September 19.
Similarly, from 21:00H., the Santa Ana Parish will host the celebration of a Holy Mass, which will be officiated by the parish priest Don Julián Azcárate and sung by the Canna group. At the end of it, it will give way to the procession of the images through the usual route, accompanied by the Municipal Band of Santiago del Teide, parish priest, authorities and faithful, highlighting that, in the course of it, there will be a pyrotechnic exhibition by the Brothers Toste de Los Realejos. Likewise, it will be from 23:00H. when the Great Verbena begins, which on this occasion will be in charge of the Dinacord Orchestra and the Young Project group.
On Sunday, September 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the 40th edition of the Santiago del Teide Popular Craft Fair will be held, which on this occasion will take place on Calle Méndez Núñez and will feature the entertainment of the parade by A.F. Tayme and A.F. Araza. It will not be until 12:00 H. when the Holy Mass of San Joaquín y la Paz begins, which will be officiated by the parish priest D. Julián Azcárate and sung by Raíces de Santiago del Teide, highlighting that it will have an offering offered by the Dance Workshops of Santiago del Teide. At the end of it, a procession will begin for the usual tour, accompanied by the Municipal Band of Santiago del Teide, the parish priest, authorities and faithful present.
Finally, at 8:00 p.m., the Great End of Festivities Gala will begin, which will be presented by Tina León and Alicia León, and which will feature the performances of the Septeto Boyeros and the Magec Group; highlighting that, during the course of it, the trophies of the envite and domino tournaments will be presented and those present will be able to enjoy the music of Rafa Oliveros, which will liven up the closing of the parties.
