The second edition of the "Sandanza 2023" Dance Festival lands again in Santiago del Teide
It will take place on August 4 and 5, in the Plaza Norberto García de La Vigilia
On August 4 and 5, Santiago del Teide will again host its "Sandanza 2023" Dance Festival, which on this occasion will celebrate its second edition and will take place in the Plaza Norberto García de La Vigilia -Puerto de Santiago-; thus constituting, for the second consecutive year, a multipurpose space where art in movement becomes the epicentre of the public's
In this second edition there will be three island companies that will compose the programming of the aforementioned exhibition, which seeks to gradually cover the diversity of styles that the human being has created through the art of dance.
Thus, the aforementioned festival will have its inauguration next Friday, August 4, at 6:30 p.m., with the development of the Parade of the Reciclown Theatre Company "El paso de los cisnes", a show that itinerantly performs a series of numbers where the dance, humour and festive spirit of the parade are present, attending at times to the rigour of classical ballet and
Likewise, on Saturday, August 5, at 6:30 p.m. we will have the participation of the Lamajara Collective, which with its show "Labranza" will offer a proposal that will transport the viewer to immerse themselves in a rural aesthetic full of action, which are a reflection of the common, the everyday, the authentic and are surrounded by those stories of yesteryear that
Finally, it will be at 7:00 p.m. when the Bankora collective stages its dance show "Bankora, a covered rooster", which alludes to "the galleros who kept their rooster hidden from their competitors to strengthen their character and bravery. This is the origin of the expression being a covered rooster, which extends and ceases to be exclusive to the galleros. That someone is considered a covered rooster means that he is a person whose skills in some terrain remain hidden until a certain moment."
