The city council presents the XXVII edition of the Almendro en Flor 2024 Photo Contest
From March 4 to the 11th of the aforementioned month, the deadline for sending, in digital format, of the aspiring samples will be open
The City Council of the Historic Town of Santiago del Teide communicates that from March 4 to the 11th of the aforementioned month, at 2:30 p.m., the deadline will be open for the sending in digital format of the photographic works that will compete in the XXVII Almendro en Flor Photo Contest 2024, which can be attended by all people over 18 years of age, of any nationality and country of residence.
The theme should be about the "Almendro en Fleur", being mandatory that the place of the photograph is in the municipality of Santiago del Teide. In addition to this, it is worth mentioning that the aspiring photographs - in black and white or colour, must be presented in digital format through the link: https://concursosdecanarias.es/concurso/almendros-en-flor-2024/, which will be activated when the period of submission of the same begins with the digital characteristics of the aspiring photograph.
Likewise, a maximum of 2 works may be submitted per author, highlighting that the image file sent must have a title or motto and the place where the photograph was taken, as well as the personal data of the author.
Regarding the photography modality, this time there will be 3 contest modalities: Night photography, creative and conceptual photography and, finally, macro photography.
It should be noted that, as in previous editions, all those people who compete in the "macro photography" modality, will later be required to have a panoramic image of the place of Santiago del Teide where the photograph has been taken as proof.
As for the jury, it will be composed of a President and will have two members - people related and qualified in the art of photography -, acting as secretary of the jury, without voice or vote, a technician from the Department of Culture.
Likewise, and once all the competing works have been exported to the corresponding digital platform of the contest, the jury will carry out a screening process, which will take place on March 15, selecting those works that they consider of the highest quality and artistic richness so that they, in turn, proceed to the last phase of the contest. It should be noted that these selected works will be those that are materialised by the City Council to be exhibited at the Fisherman's Museum from March 25; thus ensuring the same process of printing, quality, dimension and format in each of them.
The jury's judgement will take place on April 12 at the Fisherman's Museum, where the works selected in the previous process will be exhibited, although the ruling will be communicated through a press release and municipal website. In addition, the winners of the contest will be notified by telephone.
The prizes that will be awarded are the following:

SECOND PRIZE €200.00
THIRD PRIZE €150.00
