The city council launches the 7th edition of the Literary Contest "Lyric Letters of Santiago 2023"
The works can be delivered until 1:00 p.m. on July 19
The City Council of the Historic Town of Santiago del Teide communicates that until 1:00 p.m. on July 19, the deadline for the presentation of the works that will compete in the VII Literary Contest "Lyric Letters of Santiago 2023" is open, which can be attended by all those adults who wish, residents in Spain, provided that they present the works in Spanish language, original and unpublished Editorial process. Failure to comply with this first base automatically disqualifies the participant.
The theme will be free, highlighting that a "Special Prize" will be awarded to the work whose content takes into account any of the many remarkable aspects - landscape, ethnographic, etc. - of Santiago del Teide; although the first prize may fall on a work that is recreated in the municipality, apart from the Special Prize.
Regarding the deadline for the delivery of works, this will be until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19 - peninsular Spanish time -, while the jury's decision will be announced on July 25, highlighting that the winners will be summoned to the institutional act of delivery of distinctions, which will be held coinciding with the feast of St. James the Apostle.
For the "Told" modality, the work must have a maximum extension of 6 pages and a minimum of 4 pages; while the "Poetry" modality must have a maximum extension of 200 verses and a minimum of 25 verses. Finally, the "Loa" modality will have a maximum extension of 75 verses and a minimum of 25 verses.
As for the prizes, each of the modalities of the contest will be honoured:
FIRST PRIZE........................... 300.00 euros
SECOND PRIZE........................ 150.00 euros
SPECIAL PRIZE..........................200.00 euros
Likewise, the original work must be typed in double space, using a type "Arial", "Times New Roman" or similar to 12 points, and must have an A-4 size document format on a single side. The original of the work will be presented only in digital format through the digital platform "mundoarti.com". A PDF with the anonymous literary work must be attached and fill in the personal data (plica); highlighting that shipments that include drawings, photos, external links or any type of ornament outside the text will not be accepted.
Finally, it should be noted that the jury will be chaired by the Councillor for Culture of the City Council of Santiago del Teide and will have as members related and qualified people in literary art; although a technician from the Department of Culture will act as secretary of the jury.
