Santiago del Teide Drives the Transformation of its Commerce into a Smart Shopping Destination

Launches the “From the Coastal Arc to the Inland Heart” Project

The Santiago del Teide City Council is developing the “From the Coastal Arc to the Inland Heart” project, a strategic initiative aimed at modernizing the municipality's commercial fabric and moving towards a Smart Shopping Destination model, promoting more innovative, sustainable, digital, and locally connected commerce.

The project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of local businesses, improve the experience of residents and visitors, and encourage the redistribution of tourist flows between the coast and inland areas, enhancing the municipality's commercial identity and the value of its natural, cultural, and heritage resources.

To achieve these objectives, the initiative is structured around three main lines of action:

1) Strategic and Innovation Plan for Commerce 2026-2030, which will establish the roadmap for the municipality's commercial development over the coming years.

2) Commercial Visibility and Business Modernization Program, through the analysis and improvement of businesses in the municipality, incorporating actions related to commercial image, digitalization, sustainability, and an enhanced shopping experience.

3) Digital Business Passport, a platform that will allow users to discover local businesses through routes, incentives, and digital tools that will connect commercial activity on the coast with inland towns.

This initiative aims to promote the digital transformation of businesses, improve their visibility, foster collaboration between the business sector and local government, encourage consumption within the municipality, and generate new opportunities for sustainable economic development.
