The city council has the project to condition and improve the Arguayo Football Field
The local government plans to tender the works in the coming months
The City Council of Santiago del Teide has the project to condition and improve the Arguayo soccer field as an action planned within the municipal strategy to improve the public space that consists, fundamentally, in the rehabilitation and improvement of deteriorated sports facilities.
In this sense, the idea of the local consistory is that the new facility contemplates a 7 artificial soccer grass field, a four-street athletics track, a volleyball-beach court, a callisthenics area as well as an area of stands, covered, with public toilets, changing room and warehouse.
The turrets of existing spotlights will be maintained and part of the perimeter walls of the plot will be demolished, with different heights, to rebuild them of bush-hammered reinforced concrete as well as the exterior walls that face the main road will be rehabilitated.
Finishing the intervention is a new proposed grandstand that due to its condition as a boundary between urban space and natural space, a light piece is proposed, of special sensitivity due to its impact on the territory, and that also works as a gazebo to the landscape.
Emilio Navarro points out that "the idea of conditioning and improving the Arguayo soccer field is raised in order to achieve a multifunctional sports space that houses various sports and leisure activities; generating a centrality that enhances and benefits the tourist and economic development of the area, and its relationship with the landscape that surrounds it."
