The City Council Announces the Winners of the 11th Annual Decorated Crosses on Façades Contest 2026
More than 20 crosses participated in this year's contest, which took place on Sunday, May 3rd.
The 11th Annual Decorated Crosses on Façades Contest has announced its winners in its various categories: individual, group/association, and school. The contest was part of the "Crux26" event program.
Following a visit from the appointed jury, the first prize in the individual category, valued at €200, was awarded to María Cristina Díaz Hernández. The second prize, worth €150, went to Belinda Cairós González, while the third prize, worth €100, was awarded to Tamara Meneses Afonso.
In the group/association category, the winners were, first place, the Amelia Martín Association of Puerto de Santiago. Second place went to the Los Cardones Senior Citizens Association of Tamaimo, and third place to the Roque de Arguayo Senior Citizens Association. The prizes in this category are €400, €200, and €100, respectively.
Finally, in the school category, first prize went to the José Esquivel Primary School of Puerto de Santiago, second prize to the Tamaimo Primary School, and third prize to the Feliciano Hernández García Primary School of Santiago del Teide. The prizes in this category are €300, €200, and €100, respectively, redeemable for educational materials.
