The Volunteer Firefighters of Santiago del Teide have recently presented their annual report for the year 2023, which shows that there have been a total of 116 activated exits since the 112 that this body has had to carry out in different interventions throughout from last year.
In this sense, the report indicates that the work hours have been 123.35 in total and the average firefighter per service performed was 5.82.
Of these exits and interventions we must highlight the displacement of personnel and resources to the fire declared on the island of Tenerife that affected 11 of the 31 municipalities on the island after destroying nearly 15,000 hectares. Furthermore, in collaboration with the SUC (Canary Emergency Service), mountain rescues stand out, a total of 29, coastal rescues, which amounted to 9, and fire in homes with a total of 7 services.
Other services worth highlighting were elevators, stubble fires, accidents, and animal rescue.
Finally, we must remember that this year, 2023, the volunteer firefighters celebrated their 35th anniversary and were honored by the city council.
