El Retamar Celebrates its Festival in Honor of the Virgin of Rocío and Saint Lorenzo the Martyr

The town of El Retamar will celebrate its festival this weekend in honor of the Virgin of Rocío and Saint Lorenzo the Martyr. The festival will take place on Sunday, June 1st, with religious ceremonies and recreational activities for the enjoyment of its residents.
Thus, on Sunday, June 1st, at 8:00 a.m., the Radio Curbelo crew will arrive to liven up the day of celebration. At 9:00 a.m., a flower reveille will be performed by the Tamatimba Batucada. From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a children's play park will be held in the square.
Around 1:30 p.m., the Route of the Villages will arrive at the shrine of Saint Lorenzo the Martyr with a floral offering. This will be followed by a luncheon for fellowship and a musical performance by Grupo Paraíso. At 7:00 p.m., Mass will be held in honor of the Virgin of Rocío and San Lorenzo Mártir, officiated by Parish Priest Víctor Manuel Fernández and sung by AFC Raíces. At the end, a procession will follow the usual route accompanied by the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band, local authorities, and the faithful. A fireworks display will be held during the procession.
At 8:30 p.m., snacks will be served for those attending and a musical performance by Armonía Latina.
