11 unemployed people hired through the "Santiago del Teide+Sustainable" project

 

For nine months, they will carry out activities that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting local employment. Mayor Emilio Navarro, accompanied by the Councilor for Local Development, Germán Jiménez, and the Councilor for Human Resources, Gesabel Dorta, welcomed the 11 people who have started working for the city council as part of the "Santiago del Teide+Sustainable" employment project this morning, Monday, June 23rd.

 

This project is financed with funds from the Strategic Framework for Island Development (MEDI) of the Tenerife Island Council and the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN) of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. It is part of the line of subsidies to Tenerife city councils aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting local employment.

 

These 11 people, after completing the initial phase of the aforementioned project, have begun working on this agreement for a period of 9 months, carrying out various actions that contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development and promoting local employment.

 

In this regard, two environmental educators have been hired for environmental sustainability education. To compile a census of municipal facilities and buildings and a catalog of green spaces and garden areas, one technical architect (surveyor), one law graduate, one agricultural engineer, one draftsman, and one administrative assistant have been hired.

 

To implement energy efficiency projects, one industrial engineer, one technical architect (surveyor), and one administrative assistant have been hired, while to promote tourism in Santiago del Teide, one mid-level business administration and management (ADE) technician has been hired.
